Field Guide for the Formerly Villainous by Autumn England is $1.99! This is book one in the Everyday Magic series. This is described as a cozy queer fantasy, and the romance seems more like a subplot to the main character’s healing from trauma.
The Library of Flowers by L.C. Chu is $1.99! This one came out in May and be a leftover deal from the weekend. Hopefully it’s not! This is the pen name for romance author Lily Chu and is a magical realism title.
RECOMMENDED: The Bride by Julie Garwood is $1.99! This is one of my favorite historical romances and was one of my gateway reads to the genre, if you’ve listened to the What Made Us Romance Readers podcast episode.
This Monster of Mine by Shalini Abeysekara is $3.99! I remember both Elyse and I mentioned this on a Whatcha Reading. It sounds spooky and mysterious!

Overall, this is enemies-to-lovers done right with the best reason for a marriage of convenience that I’ve ever read. The sadness, though, is still sitting with me the next day. For me, that type of emotion in a book really lingers while the sharp emotional high of an HEA is over pretty quickly. So do take that into account when considering this book. Mileage might vary.

By the time I read book 3, I was amazed by the creativity in the storylines and surprised that I never felt bored revisiting the same month-long time period. The third book, Not Here to Make Friends, takes that creativity to a new level.
Swept Away by Beth O’Leary is $2.99! This release came out in April 2025. I feel like O’Leary’s romances are a bit hit or miss. Do you have a favorite?

Wolfsong by TJ Klune is $2.99 and a KDD! This had a rerelease with a new cover and is book one in Green Creek series. I did not like this one, but I know I’m in the minority. I felt it was too long and while most of the romance happens when the main characters are adults, the scenes where they’re 10 and 16 respectively did not work for me.
Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver is $1.99! This is book one in the Melody Bittersweet series. The setup gives me Stephanie Plum vibes, but with ghosts.
The Duke at Hazard by KJ Charles is 99c! This is the second book in the The Gentlemen of Uncertain Fortune series. It came out last year. Shana was excited for this one because of the road trip element.
